Volunteer Opportunities

Pre-Race Packet Pickup & Registration (Friday, September 9)
Location: To be determined, but will be local to Auburn/Bonney Lake area. 2 Shifts: (4 people per shift)
Shift 1: 1:45 pm – 4:00 pm (4 volunteers)
Shift 2: 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm (4 volunteers)
Hand out the previously prepared packet that belongs to that participant. Mark name on sheet to show that packet has been picked up. Help register participants. May require some medium to heavy lifting.

Race-Day Packet Pickup & Registration
Time: 7:00 am – 8:45 am
Number of Volunteers: 4

Setup Crew
Time: 6:00 am – 9:00 am
Number of Volunteers: 10
Help setup race-day packet pickup, registration, hang signage, course preparation, prepare post-race food items, organize finishers medals and other duties. Bending and lifting up to 10 lbs is required.

Gear Check
Time: 7:00 am – 10:00 am (7:00 am for drop-off, 9:15 am for pickup)
Number of Volunteers: 2
Help participants check their gear including labeling bags and organizing. Help participants retrieve items at the end of the race. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and bending and lifting up to 10 lbs is required.

Start Line Helpers
Time: 8:45 am – 9:15 am
Number of Volunteers: 5
Move runners/walkers to start line. Help keep strollers at rear of pack. Depending on size of turnout, help runners self-corral with pace signs provided.

Course Marshals
Time: 8:45 am – 10:30 am/Varies on location
Number of Volunteers: 8
Directing runners and keep them safe along the course. Direct traffic along out-and-back course and/or making sure participants turn around at proper halfway point. Standing for long periods of time is required.

Finish Line Area
Time: 9:00 am – 11:00 am
Number of Volunteers: 10
Help congratulate runners as they finish and help in these other areas: Medal distribution, bottled water distribution, food distribution, and crowd control. May require standing for extended periods of time.

Race Day Floater
Time: Varies
Number of Volunteers: 4
If you’re open to doing anything on race day, we’ll find a spot for you depending on where help is needed! Please be flexible and ready to fill any role. May require heavy lifting and/or standing for extended periods of time.

Tear-Down Crew
Time: 11:00 am – noon/post-race
Number of Volunteers: 10
After the event is complete (approximately 11:00 am), we will need help tearing down the start/finish line area. This could include duties like taking down signs and banners, cleaning up trash in area, helping move packet pickup items (bib crates, t-shirts, etc) moving leftover food and drink items, moving tables, chairs. Bending and lifting up to 10 lbs is required.
